The largest improvements to be made are in the lower intake plenum. The lower plenum has the greatest restrictions in the ports as you can see in the photos below the port was injection molded with two different port shapes which ends up with a very restrictive seam on the sides of each port. Porting the lower plenum can increase each ports volume by over 20%!
Take a look at the ports of the lower plenum before and after porting, you can see the restrictive lip on the sides of each port and how they can be eliminated to significantly improve airflow.
After the lower plenum is opened up you can see there is no restriction into the head with the 3.7 mustang ported intake manifold. You can really hear and feel the power gains right from 2,000 rpm. Note that I do not recommend running a ported lower intake plenum on a stock tune as the lower plenum moves such a significant increase in airflow that without a proper tune you may have lean fuel mixture conditions.
